The theme of the day is benefits and challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration.

During the first part of the day, the PhD students will get an introduction to the benefits and goals of interdisciplinary collaboration by an AU researcher.

Afterwards, they will be presented with Aarhus' sustainability goals and challenges by the head of sustainability for Aarhus.

This is followed by a workshop where they will work on an Aarhus University sustainability case in groups with PhD students from different engineering disciplines. Each group will prepare and present a research poster outlining solutions to the sustainability case. There will be an award for best poster.

9:00-9:30: Introduction to the day

9:30-10:15: Benefits and achievements of interdisciplinary collaboration (Carl Schultz, AU)

10:15-10:30: Coffee and rolls

10:30-11:15: Sustainability in Aarhus (Head of Sustainability for Aarhus Henrik Muller)

11:15-10:35: AU hospital buildings (Master planners)

11:35-11:45: Introduction to the case (Tomas Kulik)

11:45-12:00: Questions and split into groups

12:00-13:00: Lunch

13:00-14:15: Case work

14:15-14:30: Coffee break

14:30-15:00: Research stay for one student from each group (case work) 

15:00-16:00: Case work

16:00-17:30: Pizza, soda and beer 

17:30-18:15: Poster presentations
